On December 3rd, Ambassador SUN Lijie met with Mr. Jaroslav Kmeť, State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic.

Ambassador Sun said that due to the joint efforts of the two sides, the China-Europe Railway Express (Xi'an-Dunajská Streda), now runs on a nearly weekly basis, has essentially achieved normalized operation, indicating a highlight of pragmatic cooperation in the time of Covid-19 epidemic. China is willing to share with Slovakia the opportunities brought by Chinese economic growth, and encourages Chinese enterprises to make high-quality investments and do businesses in Slovakia. China promotes pragmatic cooperation with Slovakia in areas of transportation infrastructure construction and interconnectivity.

Mr. Kmeť said it is a pleasure to see the positive progress made in cooperation between Slovakia and China in the field of China-Europe Railway Express. The Slovak side would like to promote Slovakia as a hub for intermodal transportation between China and Europe.
