On 18 June 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia H.E. Cai Ge attended a Dragon Boat Festival celebration hosted by the Konfuciov inštitút v Bratislave. Chinese culture enthusiasts, local friends, as well as teachers and students of the Confucius Institute took part in the event.

Ambassador Cai noted that the Dragon Boat Festival boasts a long history and rich cultural significance, embodying the Chinese nation's profound sense of patriotism and attachment to family and country. Today, it has become a traditional festival with global cultural influence. He expressed hope that the Confucius Institute would continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation between China and Slovakia through language and cultural linkages, making new contributions to people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries. With the summer holiday season approaching, Ambassador Cai welcomed more Slovak friends to grasp the opportunity brought by China's visa-free policy for Slovak citizens and visit China in person to experience the country's diverse culture, dynamic economy and modern fashion.

During the event, guests enjoyed performances featuring traditional Chinese musical instruments, including the Pipa, Er’hu and Guzheng, as well as a Chinese martial arts performance. Participants also tasted zongzi, the traditional rice dumplings associated with the Dragon Boat Festival.
