On 27 August 2026, at the invitation of Mr. Samuel Migaľ, the Minister of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Cai Ge, Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia visited the Prešov Region. During the visit, Ambassador Cai met with vice-rectors of the University of Prešov, held talks with representatives of entrepreneurs from the city of Lipany, visited local companies including Tesla Stropkov and Leyard Europe, and was interviewed by Slovak Television and Radio (STVR).

H.E. Ambassador Cai stated that China-Slovakia relations are now at their best period in history. The President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Parliament of Slovakia have all visited China, reflecting increasingly close high-level exchanges between the two countries. The strategic partnership between China and Slovakia has been continuously enriched in its connotation, creating favourable conditions for pragmatic cooperation in various fields. China is actively implementing the series of consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, and is promoting deeper cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, education, science and technology. The Prešov Region is a vital area in eastern Slovakia, home to a number of well-known universities and enterprises. The Chinese Embassy in Slovakia is ready to play its role as a bridge to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China, and translate diplomatic outcomes into more tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries.
